Relief Winds is a non-governmental humanitarian organization headquartered in Mogadishu Somalia, with additional field offices in the Jubaland, Southwest and Hirshabelle federal member states
Founded in March 2011, to address the droughts and the worrying humanitarian tragedy gripping the country by then to provide opportunity to empower women and children economically and socially through sustainable livelihood models, fostering resilient and self-reliant communities
Since 2017, Relief Winds has expanded its operations in southern Somalia including hard-to-reach areas responding to emergencies and challenges arising from drought, conflict, and food insecurity, necessitating large-scale assistance
Relief Winds envisions a society where all individuals, including the poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged, have equal opportunities and resources to realize their potential and achieve self-reliance with dignity and equity
Its mission focuses on improving the living conditions of vulnerable communities in both rural and urban areas by enhancing access to sustainable livelihood development programs that uphold human dignity and enable participation in mainstream society.
