The Somaliland Lawyers Association (SOLLA) is the legally recognized national bar association of the Republic of Somaliland, established in June 2004 in accordance with the Advocate Law No
30/2004
The Law provides the legal framework governing the admission, regulation, organization, and professional conduct of advocates in Somaliland and formally mandates SOLLA as the representative body of the legal profession.
SOLLA is an independent and democratically governed institution responsible for organizing the legal profession, maintaining the register of advocates, supervising professional conduct and discipline, and safeguarding the independence, integrity, and ethical standards of advocates
The Association unites more than 580 registered lawyers practicing throughout the territory of Somaliland and exercises its statutory functions in coordination with relevant justice sector institutions, as prescribed by law.
In accordance with its statutory mandate, SOLLA works to promote and regulate the legal profession, uphold professional standards and ethics, protect the independence of advocates, contribute to the administration of justice, and support the rule of law within the legal system of the Republic of Somaliland.
