First Aid Training

Course Description:

This course provides students with the basic skills and knowledge that assist them to identify the traumas and accidents and intervene accordingly at the accident scene. It also introduces the student with the skills to assess the emergency incident and implement the first aid procedures that will prevent further complications using the accessible resources until the victim is transferred to health care agencies

Given the training that they will take after the training the trainee will be able to:

1. Develop and overall knowledge emergency situations and demonstrate ability to respond to emergencies (check, call, care)
2. Demonstrate the initiation of emergency medical systems.
3. Develop an overall knowledge and demonstrate methods of self- protection (scene inspection, obtaining consent, preventing disease transmission, utilization of universal precautions and standards for blood borne pathogens).
4. Develop an overall knowledge and demonstrate lifesaving and life sustaining skills (rescue breathing, management of choking victims, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and first aid).
5. Recognize, identify, and apply appropriate first response to medical emergencies (Heat, Cold, Sudden Illness, Poisoning, allergic reactions, muscular skeletal injuries and open or closed wounds).

• Burns
• Hemorrhage
• Shock
• Wounds
• Diarrhea
• Fever
• Seizure/Convulsion
• Poisoning
• Cardio–pulmonary resuscitation
• Fractures
• Snake bites and bandaging and splinting
