The African Academy for Professionals (AAP) is glad to present a new training on learning Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), businesses & public institutions) and individuals interested in these skills.
Overview
Food security and Livelihood Interventions are key core components that plays a great role in a humanitarian context where protracted droughts, conflicts and other disasters re-occurring. During period of this training, trainees will be able to understand food security and Livelihoods and how it inter-plays with other sectors in terms of Nutrition, Health and WASH sectors. Ensuring access to food and the protection of livelihoods during and immediately after an emergency, primarily through cash assistance and in-kind transfers. It can assist in providing opportunities for income generation for socio-economic households and vulnerable individuals and, it generally provides improvement of nutritional advice through home economics programs and enhances the quality of rural life by way of community development.

How to apply
Training facilitator:
A highly competent professional for field of WASH, food security and livelihoods, Health and Nutrition with proven record of implementing and managing FSL and WASH project in both emergency and developmental sittings with the ability to handle the programme in an effective and efficiency manner in terms of planning, monitoring and evaluations, coordinating of the projects.
For the last 8 years, he has been working both international Organizations and the Local NGO’s and currently working SAVE The Children International. About the academic qualifications the facilitator earned Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Population Health (MPHE) and Bachelor Degree of Nutrition and Food Science (BSc in Nutrition) From Amoud University and University of Hargeisa respectively. in addition to that, he has multiple professional Certificates from the leading University in the world Certificate of Public Health in Humanitarian Crises from Johns Hopkins University, USA, Certificate in Health Engineering in Humanitarian context from Ecole Polytechnique University. Other professional trainings including project planning and Management(PPM), Human Resource Management (HRM) as well as Monitoring and Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).
