    Title:                                     Communication Associate

    Contract Duration:          1 year with possible extension

    Location:                              Mogadishu

    Directly reports:                None

    Role Overview:

    Communication Associate responsible for both creating compelling visual content and managing communication strategies to effectively convey our brand message to internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a blend of creative design skills and strategic communication expertise to enhance our brand identity and engage our audience across various channels.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1.       Graphic Design:

           Create visually appealing graphics, illustrations, and multimedia content for digital and print materials, including social media posts, website banners, presentations, brochures, and advertisements.

           Ensure consistency in design elements, brand guidelines, and messaging across all communication materials.

           Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute design projects that meet business objectives and resonate with our target audience.

    2.       Branding and Visual Identity:

           Assist in developing and maintaining the organization's visual brand identity, including logos, color schemes, typography, and imagery.

           Translate brand guidelines into visually impactful designs that reinforce our brand message and values.

           Provide design support for brand-related initiatives, events, and campaigns to enhance brand recognition and equity.

           Analyze website traffic and user behavior using analytics tools to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization

    3.       Communication Strategy:

           Develop and implement communication strategies to effectively convey our brand message and key narratives to internal and external stakeholders.

           Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to align design efforts with overall communication objectives and brand strategy.

           Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in communication approaches.

           Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.

           Pitch stories and secure media coverage to increase visibility and positive perception of the company.

           Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks.

    4.       Social Media Management and Content Creation:

           Conceptualize and produce engaging content across various communication channels, including social media, email newsletters, blogs, marketing collateral and press releases.

           Collaborate with content creators, writers, and subject matter experts to develop multimedia content that educates, entertains, and inspires our audience.

           Analyze website traffic and user behavior using analytics tools to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

           Optimize content for digital platforms, considering user experience (UX) principles and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices.

           Expertise compelling stories that highlight the company's achievements, projects, and industry insights.

           Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and effectively communicates key messages.

           Manage company profiles on various social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) to increase brand visibility and engagement.

           Develop and implement social media campaigns to promote products/services, drive traffic to the website, and generate leads.

           Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages, and respond promptly and appropriately.

    5.       Event coordination and Project Management:

           Work closely with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and product teams, to understand project requirements and deliver effective design solutions.

           Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality.

           Provide guidance and support to junior designers or external vendors as needed to execute design projects effectively.

           Manage planning and practical aspects of Arts events including booking space, audio-visual

           services; registrations; preparation for speaker; gathering supplies.

           Collaborates in preparing speaker notes and event scenario documents; create slides as needed.

            Attend event as communication associate.

           Post-event video editing and caption correction.

     

    Skills and Qualifications

           Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, or related field.

           Proven experience in graphic design and communication roles, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative design projects and campaigns.

           Minimum 6 years of proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva ) and familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms.

           Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for typography, layout, and composition.

           Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts effectively.

           Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.

           Proven experience in communication, branding, or marketing roles, preferably within the industrial or construction sector.

           Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management, content management systems, and analytics tools.

           Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

           Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

           Fluency in English (essential).
