Position Title: Enumerator(s) 

Location of Work: Caabudwaaq (Abudwak) District, Galmudug State, Somalia 

Contract Terms: Temporary Engagement 

Duration of Work: 17 Days

Mercy-USA for Aid and Development (Mercy-USA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating  human suffering and supporting individuals and communities in their efforts to become more self-sufficient. 

Established in 1988 in Michigan, USA, Mercy-USA’s projects focus on improving health, nutrition, access to  safe water, and promoting economic and educational growth around the world. 

Mercy-USA Somalia Program is seeking qualified candidates from Caabudwaaq (Abudwak) District to fill  the position of Enumerator for a data collection exercise in 42 villages in Caabudwaaq District. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Follow the guidelines and procedures for data entry and ensure the accuracy and completeness of  results in the spreadsheet. 

• Input data accurately into spreadsheets and meet daily targets. 

• Verify the correctness of the entered data by cross-referencing with original sources. 

• Maintain confidentiality of data and personal information in compliance with data protection  regulations. 

• Conduct checks to identify and correct errors in the data entry process. 

• Ensure consistency and reliability of data. 

• Collaborate with the Mercy-USA team to supervise the data entry process, logistics, and data  review. 

• Communicate any issues or challenges encountered during data collection. 

Skills and qualifications

Skills and Qualifications: 

• Must be a local resident of Caabudwaaq District and capable of traveling to 42 villages in the district and surrounding areas. 

• A minimum of a degree in education, statistics, information technology, or a related field is preferred. 

• Previous experience in data entry and data management is essential. 

• Proficient in speaking, understanding, and writing in English. 

• Familiarity with Kobo tool data entry systems and verification processes is an added advantage. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and other data management software. 

• Must be available for a short interview and to commence work from May 11th, 2025. 

• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and reporting. 

• Knowledge of data protection laws and commitment to maintaining confidentiality. 

• Strong analytical skills, the ability to set priorities, complete tasks with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
