  1. Field Assistant (2 positions)

JOB PURPOSE

WASH field Assistants will be responsible for all WASH activities implementation including infrastructure construction/repairs, infrastructure maintenance and capacity enhancement of community management committees under guidance of the WASH Project officer. S/He will also supervise the ground works and support the project officer in delivering the project indicators.

JOB OUTLINE

Position title: Field Assistant

Reports to: Project Officer

Works Directly with: PO, WASH engineer, HP Supervisor and other Program teams.

Duty Station: Baidoa

Duration: 12 months

Deadline: 24/06/2023

JOB DESCRIPTION (JD)

  • Responsible for the day to day activity implementation at field level;
  • Work closely with the Project Officer, local government offices and the communities; 
  • Ensure beneficiary selection procedure and criteria are understood by the community and followed by the targeting committees; 
  • Ensure any feedback from beneficiaries or target communities are shared timely to project officers and that they are responded to appropriately or raised with the field Coordinator as needed; 
  • Support in conducting any project related assessments and relevant data collection based on needs identified. 
  • Provide regular report to the project officer regarding the progress of project activities in the respective operation areas; 
  • Linking community structures aimed at strengthening community participation during project planning and implementation and their ability to manage the outputs of the project in the medium to long term.
  • Focal person channeling information between WASDA and community structures.
  • Encourage full participation of women in project cycle with particular emphasis on ensuring female representation in decision-making levels.
  • Document all lessons learnt and shared with the team to improve the quality of future engagements with the community
  • Undertake any other related tasks as assigned by the line manager;

 

Skills and qualifications

Education, Experience & Working Knowledge

  • At least 1 -2 years of appropriate experience in a similar capacity.
  • Minimum education Matric.

Skills & Attributes

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implementation & Manage filed activities;
  • Data Entry & Report Writing;
  • Personnel management skills and experience;
  • Good problem-solving skills and results orientation;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication and leadership skills;
  • Accountable, and Persevering & Delivering Results;
  • Proficiency in the use of computer office applications on word processing and spread sheet;

Languages:

  • Excellent knowledge of English and Somali (written/oral/comprehension) is essential.
