Position: Secondary English Teacher

Hours: Full-time/Regular

Location: Farah Nour secondary school (Baligubadle – Hawd region)

Salary: $500/ month

Farah Nour Secondary School (Baligubadle) is looking to employ an English teacher with an outstanding track record of teaching English lessons to students from Elementary School through to High School. The English teacher will be responsible for the teaching English in the FSS as well as Grade eight class in Dahir Dubad elementary school in Baligubadle

The English teacher must possess a pleasant character that will enhance the learning process. Ultimately, an outstanding English teacher should engage students in meaningful and fun activities, creating an environment conducive to learning.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lesson plans that meet core objectives and principles and are in line with the curriculum goals

• develop students' basic language skills such as: writing, reading, speaking and listening

• Enhance students’ academic letter writing

• prepare instructional aids and supplemental teaching materials including audio and visual resources

• Prepare and set regular exercises, home works, tests and examinations

• Teach grammar and syntax, vocabulary and word usage and other principles of the English language.

• Develop students' verbal skills including reading out loud, discussion and debate.

• Encourage the development of critical thinking skills.

• Ability to create a fun and engaging classroom atmosphere

• help students to work independently and collaboratively in groups

• Encourage student responsibility, cooperation, tolerance and mutual respect in a manner consistent with School and District policies and procedures.

• maintain accurate and complete student records including attendance, grades, assessments and test scores as required by district and school procedures and regulations

• Bachelor's degree in English teaching or related qualifications.

• At least five years of experience of teaching in secondary schools.

• solid knowledge of subject matter including subject-specific curriculum and assessments

• proficient in the use of technology and computer applications as required
