JOB ADVERT- ACTIONAID INTERNATIONAL IN SOMALIA

Field Officer Baladwayne, Somalia

ActionAid International (AAI) is looking for a committed and inspirational Field Officer based in Beledweyne. This is an eight-month contract with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability and performance. The position is subject to funding, and a contract will be given on the condition of funding.

The Role:

The Field officer Baladwayne roles and responsibilities:

 

·         Provide a monthly update of the region's contextual analysis / situational report.

·         Provide Area Manager with an up-to-date information of the area's socioeconomic position, trends, requirements, and priorities.

·          Ensure that the risk and threat mapping and analysis are updated and shared monthly with Are Manager.

·         Share information related to context, humanitarian and security on regular bases to Area Manager.

·         Lead the project planning, implementation, reporting, budget monitoring.

·         Support  in baseline development and other review and assessment processes as and when needed

·         Support in the development of communication system and tools for the project

·         Lead in the development of detailed work plan including budgets

·         Ensure all project activities to effectively reach project targets and goals Contribute the  country strategy paper (CSP) development

·         Ensures the delivery of CSP at project level.

·         Play active role in initiating and developing new project proposals/concept notes.

·         Ensure quality program delivery through continuous monitoring, mentorship, and supervision.

·         Lead evidence-based program documentation to showcase program impact on the target communities.

·         Take the lead in the designing of performance objectives for Hirshabelle State program and monitor progress to meet desired outcomes.

·         Support the Area Manager in providing regular programming updates.

·         Assist with the development of public relations and communications strategies to support program goals and increase community awareness.

·         Facilitate the implementation of Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and other ActionAid adopted standards and principles to ensure accountability to the crises affected people.

Skills and qualifications

Qualification & Experience:

i.      Degree in Development/Humanitarian Studies

ii.    Master’s degree in project management, Social Sciences, and any relevant field (Added advantage)

iii.   Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and working with INGO/NNGO.

iv.  Must have strong and polished interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

v.    At least 2 years field level experience at state level

vi.  Creative, strategic, and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects.

vii. Solid leadership and great teamwork skills

viii.        Must be highly organized and able to work well with others.

ix.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows based computer application and database management

x.    Database management experience

Possess a significant amount of professional expertise in the context of Hirshabelle State
