Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Location: BERBERA, SOMALILAND

Job Type: [Full-Time Contract]

Reports To: [OPERATION MANAGER AND CHIEF OF ENGINEERING]

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee a variety of construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, and supervising construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1.    Project Planning:

o    Develop detailed project plans and schedules.

o    Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to determine project specifications.

2.    Budget Management:

o    Prepare and manage project budgets.

o    Monitor expenses and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.

3.    Resource Allocation:

o    Determine necessary resources (manpower, equipment, materials).

o    Acquire and manage resources efficiently.

4.    Contract Negotiation:

o    Negotiate contracts with external vendors.

o    Ensure profitable agreements.

5.    Permits and Compliance:

o    Obtain necessary permits and licenses. 

o    Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards.

6.    Supervision and Reporting:

o    Supervise construction activities and provide guidance.

o    Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.

7.    Initiate Project:

o    Define project scope and objectives.

o    Identify key stakeholders and establish communication plans.

8.    Develop Project Plan:

o    Create a detailed project schedule with milestones.

o    Allocate resources and assign tasks to team members.

9.    Monitor Progress:

o    Track project progress against the plan.

o    Adjust schedules and resources as needed to stay on track.

10.  Manage Risks:

o    Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

o    Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle.

11.  Ensure Quality:

o    Implement quality control measures.

o    Conduct regular inspections and audits.

12.  Close Project:

o    Ensure all project deliverables are completed.

Conduct a final review and obtain stakeholder approval

Skills and qualifications

       Proven 15 years of experience as a construction project manager.

       In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.

       Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.

       Proficiency in MS Office and construction/project management software.

       Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

       Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

       Bachelor’s minimum of degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.

       PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
