About the Position

The Faculty of Education at Amoud University is seeking a dedicated and experienced English Teacher to join our English Language Improvement Program (ELIP). The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong understanding of English language instruction, and the ability to inspire students to achieve their English language proficiency goals. This role is crucial in supporting students to enhance their English skills for academic success and future career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

·         Delivery of high-quality English instruction: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English language lessons to students at various proficiency levels, focusing on improving their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

·         Curriculum development: Contribute to the development and implementation of the English Language Improvement Program curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of diverse learners.

·         Assessment and evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to monitor and evaluate students' progress in English proficiency. Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their learning objectives.

·         Classroom management: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement. Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive classroom atmosphere.

·         Student support: Offer individualized support to students, identifying areas where they may need additional assistance and providing extra tutoring or guidance as needed.

·         Professional development: Stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and developments in English language teaching. Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.

·         Program promotion: Assist in promoting the English Language Improvement Program within the university and the broader community, encouraging enrollment and participation.

·         Administrative duties: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other relevant data. Prepare and submit reports as required by the program coordinator or faculty administration.

·         Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.

·         Certification: A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA) is required.

·         Experience: Previous teaching experience, preferably in a higher education setting or language improvement program.

·         Language Proficiency: Native or near-native proficiency in English.

·         Teaching Skills: Strong teaching and classroom management skills, with the ability to adapt to the needs of diverse learners.

·         Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.

·         Technology Skills: Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms to enhance teaching and learning.

Cultural Awareness: Sensitivity to the cultural and linguistic diversity of students.
