Job description

Overall Job Purpose

Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of the regional Community Based Surveillance (CBS), Epidemic Prevention, Preparedness & Response (EPPR) and Protection, Gender, Inclusion & Equality (PGIE) activities aimed to expand the availability of health services across community health sectors. Support the Development and implementation of capacity building programs and training workshops aimed at empowering vulnerable communities to improve primary health care services and strengthening Health Emergency Preparedness and Response.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide technical support and leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of SHERC project activities at the Branch level as per the approved budget and scope

Implement and monitor project activities regarding EPPR, CBS and PGIE among communities and the branch level.

Coordinate the project Volunteers on EPR, CBS, PGIE related activities going at the community level Coordinate and support staff for any response related to on EPR, CBS, PGIE related activities

Participate capacity building activities by training project volunteers.

Work with SRCS branch staff, volunteers and supervisors to document the functionality and effectiveness of Community health activities in the region.

Provide input into reports, publications on the project and advocacy, support communication to authorities in collaboration with branch staff

Compile eCBHFA reports from community volunteers and share to the relevant health authorities at regional and coordination level. Facilitate survival referral pathways for SGBV victims in the region and include in your monthly reports.

Participate in regional meetings like CBS, PGIE and EPPR meetings.

Mobilize, sensitize, and mentor the new community health committee’s

Report immediately on any challenges (incl. security concern, emergencies) occurring in the community to the branch health officer and branch coordinator.

Prepare and produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly project activity reports in line with the Project and report to PGIE, CBS, and EPR Managers.

Ensure effective implementation of integration Community Case Management (iCCM) initiatives utilizing standard protocols, policies and guidelines as prescribed by SRCS and MOHD as well.

Manage for drug distribution to community health volunteers and supply management system to ensure efficiency and best practice.

Having previous experience on ICCM, give support to ICCM focal points in the field.

In collaboration with ICCM line managers, prepare routine reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually) and ad hoc reports to SRCS management, MoHD, and other stakeholders as required

Operations Management

Participate in development, implementation, and evaluation of the EPPR – PGIE programme annual work plans and budgets line with strategic priorities for branch level.

Must be able to identify capacity-building needs of the project volunteers and ensure they are properly trained and well supported to implement programme activities.

 

Skills and qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional practice in Epidemiology, Public Health, or social work.

Required Job Experience and Competencies

Minimum 3 years relevant experience in implementing an integrated health program consisting of maternal and child health, immunization, nutrition, HIV/Aids as well as health and hygiene promotion within a humanitarian context

PGIE knowledge will be an added value

Familiarity with cultural perceptions about psychiatric difficulties. Demonstrating consistency in upholding integrity and ethics

Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to the fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement

Team leader with demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate openness to change & ability to manage complexities

Demonstrated conflict resolution skills and ability to manage inter-group dynamics and mediate conflicting interests

Excellent writing skills, analytical capacity to synthesize project outputs and findings for the preparation of quality programme reports

Maturity & confidence in dealing with senior and high-ranking officials Remain calm, in control, and good-humored even under pressure

Respond positively to critical feedback and differing points of view.

We offer:

SRCS offers a contract of one year, renewable depending on both funding and performance.

Salary and Benefits are according to SRCS terms of employment for national staff.
