Burao Academy of Science and Technology is currently recruiting a middle school principal for the 2023-2024 school year, commencing on January 13, 2024.

Burao Academy of Science and Technology Overview:

Burao Academy is an independent, non-profit, coeducational, boarding school serving grades 7 through 12 and offering comprehensive education with special focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

Job Duties:

The ideal candidate will:

✓    Manage Burao Academy Middle School with a population 67 learners

✓    Oversee daily activities including support teachers with development implementation, valuation of the Burao Academy Middle School programs

✓     Help create and maintain a positive, safe, and high-standards learning environment for all students

✓     Teach 7th and 8th grade curriculum as needed

✓      Meet and greet parents regarding students’ academic progress

✓      Support production and distribution of instructional material in and out of classroom space

✓        One to two times a year, help Burao Academy ntrance exams throughout Somaliland cities

Qualifications:

✓    Bachelor's degree or higher

✓      2+ years of direct experience in an academic and professional management

✓     Strong interpersonal skill, calmness, and composure to support 7th and 8th grade students

✓      Ability to adapt to changes and be flexible to grow with Burao Academy academic vision

Job Requirements:

✓    Must demonstrate effective communication skills in English and Somali, written & oral

✓      The ability to effectively use technology tools and resources for teaching

✓      The ability to resolve basic/ complex problems with or without school management guidance

✓      Must prioritize safety and academic achievements for students

✓      Strong work ethics and integrity to supervise and support students required

Timeline: Position Start Date: Immediately with a commitment to complete the Burao Academy 2023-2024 academic year ending June 2024 and
