    Title: Project Field Officer

    Location: Burco with travels to Project locations

    Duration: One Year

SOS Children's Villages is a social development international organization working 135 countries globally and committed to the welfare of children – often throughout the whole of their childhood, and to strengthening families and communities as a preventive measure in the fight against abandonment and social neglect. With the SOS Children’s Village concept, the organization pioneered a family approach to the long-term care of orphaned and abandoned children.  SOS Children’s Villages upholds child protection policy and our selection processes reflect our commitment to the protection of children and youth from abuse.

    SOS Children’s Villages in Somaliland is seeking to recruit Project field Officer who will be responsible for the implementation of the emergency response project activities, and its day-to-day project monitoring.

    SPECIFIC TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES: 

    • Represent SOS Children’s Villages with local (village) authorities, Govt. of Somaliland officials, NGOs and other agencies operating in the project implementation area.
    • Work in close collaboration with SOS Children’s Villages project coordinator to assist in the project implementation.
    • Responsible for consolidation of beneficiaries’ data
    • Collection of relevant data and participation in assessments, verification, distribution, and redemption process
    • Active liaison with relevant stakeholders to avoid any conflict.
    • Present and facilitate in capacity building events designed for the beneficiaries.
    • Reporting of issues and their possible solutions to the Project Coordinator.
    • Weekly and monthly reporting of project progress.
    • Support and assist M&E in collection and compilation of data.
    • Other duties as required in line with your skills, experience and role as well as undertakes any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
    • Follows all SOS Children’s Villages policies and procedures.

     

    Skills and Qualifications

    Experience:

    Ü  Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Development Studies

    Ü  At least 3 years of relevant experience with minimum 1 year of emergency programs funded by key donors.

    Ü  Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.

    Ü  Experience of working with INGOs preferred.

    Ü  Good communicator with excellent report writing and facilitation skills.
