Job Title
: MEDICAL ACTIVITY MANAGER.
Work Location
: DHOBLEY-SOMALIA.
Start date
: As soon as possible
Length of contract
: 6 months with 3 months’ probation period.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES /TASKS
Coordinate, assess and supervise the proper functioning of the medical activities (Dhobley HospitalITFC etc.), according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures and through the correct compilation and analysis of medical data regarding patients’ health conditions.
Participate in the definition of annual planning and budget for the project and in the follow up of the programs
- Supervising and ensuring that medical activities objectives under his/her responsibility are achieved, reporting to the technical referent any problem arising in the service
Check all administrative procedures related to patients’ follow-up (individual card filling, registers, paper exit, discharge, transfers ...) are carried out correctly and according to MSF procedures.
Ensure an efficient pharmacy management and monitoring the rational use of them. In coordination with the project biomedical service supervising the appropriate use of medical devices and anticipating future needs. Preparing the medical orders needed to implement the medical activities under his/her responsibility, and identifying and reporting to the line manager, non-medical support needs (material, infrastructure, transport, etc.)
Coordinate and monitor the daily working plan of the team under his/her responsibility (absent personnel, vacations, tracking leaves ...). Participating in shifts and replaces a doctor, if necessary
Plan and supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to improve staff capabilities and to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
Participate in the monthly reports according to guidelines (i.e. SitReps, medical statistical reports, etc.).
Ensure health workers in Dhobley District Hospital accurately diagnose SAM with complications and correctly treat them after conducting specialized formal Malnutrition training sessions, on-the-job training, and follow-up.
Ensure the patients are transferred and linked to the most convenient OTP after they are discharged from the ITFC.
Capacity Building of the ITFC staff.
- Ensure there is a theoretical and hands-on training for the selected key staff who are going to set up and run the ITFC.
- Ensure reliable nutritional supplies to Dhobley Hospital and maintain a stock of drugs in the pharmacy to manage the SAM cases.
- Monitor the malnutrition situation in the district through primary data collection and analysis of the data on a weekly and monthly basis through the surveillance officer.
In -charge of Program Monitoring:
- Ensure MSF Data collection tools are used for data collection and manage Data Health Information System for the project intended to improve the timeliness and quality of data collected.
- Provides the MSF project team with data on a weekly basis or daily if necessary for monitoring purposes.
- Share scanned copies of the patient’s files on a weekly basis to check adherence to the guidelines and ensure the safety of the patients treated in the ITFC.
