SOS Children’s Villages Somalia has officially been working in Somalia since 1985. SOS is currently working in 134 countries worldwide. We also run education and health facilities. With the SOS Children’s Village concept, the organization pioneered a family approach to the long-term care of orphaned and abandoned children. Position title: Distributor (1 pst)
Reporting to: Nutrition Supervisor
Location: Diinsor-Bay-SW -Somalia
Job summary:
The distributor is expected to provide a high standard of promoting optimum health and preventive health care, thereby contributing to a safe, efficient and effective service to patients.
Job Responsibilities:
Main duties and Responsibilities:
• The nutrition distributor will perform calculation of daily nutrition supplies received in the facility.
• With the reference of the information in the ration cards, the distributor gives nutrition supplies to each beneficiary.
• H/she will make sure that the number of supplies received is equal to the number requested for the particular facility in the same day and reports to the supervisor in case of discrepancy.
• The distributor ensures that the supplies are kept in a safe environment during the daily distribution period, this includes friendly temperature, avoid supply contact with water and other chemicals.
• The distributor will keep the distribution records of each day for serve as a reverence for the monthly supply consumption reports.
• With the support of the cleaners, the distributor will ensure that the empty supply cartos and sachets are stored in a proper way and finally undergo to the organization’s waste disposal process.
• The distributor will return the daily supply balance to the temporary store and reports the number of balance cartons to the supervisor every day.
• The distributor shares consumption reports with the line supervisor timely in every week and month.
• The distributor will support the physical counting of the nutrition supplies in the warehouse when needed.
Skills and qualifications
Job competencies:
Essential
• Intermediate / secondary certificate or related field
• Minimum 1 years of progressive professional experience in Managements of store and distribution
• Excellent command in Somali languages
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Stock management skills.
• basic knowledge and experience in nutrition
• Understanding local contexts and dialogues is additional value.
