2. Job Summary

The Sales Agronomist based in Erigavo will drive commercial growth by combining technical agronomic expertise with direct sales execution.

This role bridges high-value farm inputs (seeds, water-soluble fertilizers, crop protection, and irrigation equipment) with practical technical extension to farmers, cooperatives, and commercial growers across the Sanaag region.

3. Key Duties & Responsibilities

A. Commercial Sales & Market Development

• Drive sales targets for CPI’s crop protection suite, specialized plant nutrition, seeds, and farm equipment across Erigavo and the broader Sanaag region.
• Map out local agricultural potential, identifying key commercial farmers, cooperatives, and agro-dealers to build a robust sales pipeline.
• Manage customer accounts, process orders, oversee product deliveries, and manage credit/cash collection terms responsibly.

B. Technical Advisory & Field Support

• Conduct field visits and diagnostic assessments to provide tailored advice on soil health, crop nutrition, pest management, and water usage.
• Recommend precise CPI input packages (e.g., targeted NPK blends, fertigation, plant protection chemicals) tailored to local soil and climatic conditions.
• Advise growers on greenhouse setup, drip irrigation practices, and high-value horticultural crops (fruits and vegetables).

C. Field Demonstrations & Extension

• Establish and manage local Demonstration Plots to showcase the yield advantages of CPI seeds, fertilizers, and technology packages.
• Organize farmer field days, workshops, and technical training sessions for local agricultural communities and lead farmers.

D. Market Intelligence & Reporting

• Track local crop trends, market price fluctuations, competitor activities, and pest/disease outbreaks in the Sanaag region.
• Provide weekly and monthly sales forecasts, field visit summaries, and client feedback reports to regional management.

4.       Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, Agricultural Extension, or Agribusiness.
• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in agricultural sales, input distribution, or agronomic extension services.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in Somali and professional working proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Location & Mobility: Must be willing to reside full-time in Erigavo and travel extensively throughout remote agricultural zones in Sanaag region.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Strong sales negotiation and customer-relationship management skills.
• Diagnostic ability to identify plant nutrient deficiencies, pests, and diseases in field conditions.
• Practical understanding of climate-smart agriculture, irrigation, and plant nutrition.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in field environments.
