Job Title: Head Landscaper
Location: Garowe
Deadline: 26-02-2022
Job Description: The landscaper will be responsible for all project landscape planning, implementation and supervision on site. This role requires the landscaper to actively source and acquire flowers and plants that are suitable for the project site and compliment the landscape design. The candidate is expected to have a high level of knowledge on plant selection and care. The head landscaper must have strong leadership skills and be able to lead the landscaping team and supervise all planting, transplanting and maintenance of parks and gardens.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Plant selection, design and design execution
- Monitoring and maintaining plant growth and health
- Monitoring soil and composite levels and quality
- Sourcing and ordering flowers, plants and seeds
- Regular maintenance and monitoring of the irrigation system
- Scheduling the landscape team’s work schedule
- Regularly meeting with the landscape team, setting targets and tracking performance
- Regularly reporting landscape progress and targets
- Ordering and tracking landscape resources and usage
Skills and qualifications
- A degree/diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science or relevant qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in landscaping, forestry or agriculture
- Knowledge of plant selection and suitable environments
- Ability to understand landscape design and execution
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Must have good report writing skills
- Must be highly organized and able to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Strategic thinker and problem solver
- Strong time management and ability to multitask
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
