Primary Purpose of the position:

This position is responsible for assisting in management of the Branch Office in order to meet the financial services needs of customers in the assigned market area; implementing strategies to achieve goals developed for the branch as part of the Bank’s overall strategic plan; ensuring the branch's compliance with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements; directly supervising assigned personnel; communicating with appropriate management and staff personnel; providing periodic reports.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Branch Manager in establishing growth, sales, and profit objectives for the branch; provides input to these objectives and to the manner in which performance will be measured and controlled;
  • Ensures that the branch office is properly staffed and that the staff is trained to meet customer service needs as well as sales objectives;
  • Maintains records and prepares required monthly reports;
  • Participates in the weekly scheduling of Head Tellers/Personal Bankers, and Tellers and puts together Time Sheet Recaps for payroll processing;
  • Manages adherence to scheduling procedures;
  • Ensures adequate coverage for dual control;
  • Ensures adherence to Teller Difference Policy ;
  • Trains Head Tellers/Personal Bankers, Tellers, and staff on fraud prevention;
  • Ensures adherence to guidelines of the Branch “Survival Guide” ;
  • Ensures that customer confidentiality is being maintained at the Branch;
  • Shares in the responsibility of reviewing and approving the payment of Overdraft’s and Uncollected Funds;
  • Adheres to Paid Time Off policies;
  • Performs Teller operational procedures duties as needed;
  • Ensures that Branch security procedures and policies are followed;
  • Performs other duties as assigned;
  • Participates in the active coaching of Head Teller/Personal Banker and Teller performance;
  • Assists in performance planning;
  • Identifies the training needs of staff and coordinates training with scheduling procedures;
  • Prepares meeting agendas, conducts meetings, and assigns topics for individual staff members to speak on 
  • Initiates disciplinary action with Human resources when required;
  • Leads by example, set example - fosters open communication with staff;
  • Involved in the reaching of objectives of Branch action plans;
  • Provides input on the alignment of staff;
  • Builds self-esteem through encouragement;
  • Shares “Branch Vision” with all Branch staff
  • Helps determine methods and implements those methods to motivate staff;
  • Assists staff in recognizing and facilitating cross-selling opportunities;
  • Recognizes/facilitates and refers any and all cross-selling opportunities;
  • Implements and demonstrates the ability to work towards meeting customer service and sales expectations/standards;
  • Initiates frequent communications with customers;
  • Understands core banking products and all other products and services available;
  • Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with customers and employees;
  • Answers the telephone according to the telephone etiquette standards for the Bank;
  • Tracks and monitors sales targets and goals;
  • Takes advantage of all cross selling opportunities;
  • Participates in outside sales calls; and
  • Any other duty assigned by Branch Manager.

Essential:

  • Minimum of bachelor degree with business/banking or other relevant fields (Master degree is preferable);
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in banking with minimum of 4 years spent working at banking sector and three years served at a similar management position.
  • Significant banking knowledge of industry processes, procedures and workflows.
  • Analytical skills to determine areas in need of improvement and the ability to find creative solutions;
  • Fluent in written and spoken both English and Arabic;
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, working with different groups and nationalities.
  • Good management skills.
