As we grow our digital presence, we’re looking for a talented Video editor to join our creative team.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Video editor and Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio and a sharp eye for visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will have experience in crafting engaging videos, animations, and motion graphics for digital platforms, in three languages: Arabic, Somali, and English.

Responsibilities:

• Design and edit short-form video content for web and social media
• Create 2D motion graphics and animations for news, events, and special occasions
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and producers to translate editorial ideas into compelling visual formats
• Edit footage and enhance visual storytelling through graphics, sound effects, subtitles, and transitions
• Format content for YouTube, social media, and web platforms
• Work within brand guidelines and maintain visual consistency across platforms
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in video editing and graphic design
  • Strong knowledge of design principles and visual composition
  • Proficiency in Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects .. etc
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (or equivalents)
  • Proven ability to work in Arabic, Somali, and English both in text integration and cultural nuance.
  • Strong visual sense, storytelling ability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid setup
  • Based in Hargeisa, Somaliland

  Core Technical Skills

  ·       Motion Graphics & Animation: Creating dynamic visuals and transitions

  ·       Color Correction & Grading: Enhancing mood and consistency across footage

  ·       Sound edit & Mixing: Balancing audio, adding effects, syncing with visuals

  ·       File Management & Exporting: Organizing assets, optimizing formats for different platforms

  ·       Subtitling & Captioning: Accurate, culturally and linguistically sensitive typing

  ·       Visual Storytelling Across Languages: Understanding pacing and tone for diverse audiences

  ·       Typography & Layout for Multilingual Texts: Ensuring readability and aesthetic harmony

  Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with adapting viral and trendy content (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
  • Familiarity with broadcast or documentary editing
  • Illustration or animation background
  • Ability to enhance low-quality footage into polished content
