Senior Legal Officer - Hargeisa, Somaliland

JOB TITLE SENIOR OFFICER, LEGAL
REPORTING TO: SENIOR MANAGER, LEGAL
Location: DBI, HEAD OFFICE
Supervisory Role: Supervises All legal, Officers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Represent DBI in the court or any other stakeholders
• Attending court hearing
• Suing defaulters
• Submitting appeal competent court when it needs
• Writing final demand letter for defaulters
• Company registration and licenses renewals
• Checking investment files for legal requirements
• Make sure that the company complies with bank policies and procedures as well as banking regulations and laws
• Checking for legality collaterals
• Preparing guarantor statement agreement
• Preparing collateral agreement
• Contract administration
• Maintains current and extensive knowledge of the law and regulatory guidelines

EXPERIENCE

• At least three years’ experience in field
• Ability to work well in a team as well as independent
• Ability to take initiative
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Good skill in office software

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• . LLB, LLM or other master of relevant discipline

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Excellent understanding of bank Compliance program.
• Good knowledge of regulation and legislation affecting the bank.
• Reasonable knowledge of bank’s policy and procedures.
