Meecaad General Trading Company has been in business for over 30 years. We are in the business of office supplies, including office furniture, stationery, electronics, and I.T. equipment. We are also in the business of home furniture.

OVERVIEW

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the overall financial health of the company. This role involves developing financial strategies, overseeing financial operations, managing the finance department, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The CFO plays a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy, contributing to financial management, financial accounting, and management accounting.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITEIS WILL INCLUDE:

FINANCIAL STRATEGY & PLANNING

1.       Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.

2.       Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting.

3.       Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive management team.

4.       Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and capital requirements.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

1.       Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.

2.       Ensure timely closing of books, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

3.       Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.

4.       Manage the preparation of tax calculations and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

1.       Lead corporate finance activities, including capital raising, debt financing, and mergers & acquisitions.

2.       Evaluate and execute investment opportunities and manage relationships with investors and financial institutions.

3.       Oversee financial risk management, including hedging and insurance strategies.

4.       Manage company’s equity and debt portfolios, ensuring optimal capital structure

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING

1.       Oversee cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate costing of products/services.

2.       Develop and maintain standard costing systems, including variance analysis.

3.       Analyse and report on cost structures, identifying areas for efficiency improvements.

4.       Collaborate with operations to implement cost control measures and optimize profitability.

BUDGETING & FORECASTING

1.       Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

2.       Monitor and report on budget verses actual performance, identifying and explaining variances

3.       Provide financial forecasting and scenario analysis to support decision-making.

FINANCIAL REPORTING & ANALYSIS

1.       Ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.

2.       Perform financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational efficiency.

3.       Present financial results and insights to the senior management and owners.

TEAM LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

1.       Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

2.       Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the finance team.

3.       Ensure succession planning and career development opportunities within the department.

COMPLIANCE & INTERNAL CONTROLS

1.       Ensure the company’s financial practices comply with statutory regulations and accounting standards.

2.       Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.

3.       Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, and tax authorities.

TECHNOLOGY & SYSTEMS

1.       Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and technology.

2.       Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all financial systems.

3.       Leverage technology to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making processes.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

1.       Act as a liaison between the finance department and other departments, ensuring financial alignment with business objectives.

2.       Support the CEO in management meetings, presenting financial performance and strategic initiatives.

COST MANAGEMENT

1.      Calculating and analyzing the costs of products, projects, and activities.

2.      Implementing cost control measures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

3.      Review costs including overhead costs and make the recommendations to the strategies to reduce.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

1.      Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).

2.      Conducting variance analysis to compare actual performance against standards and benchmarks.

DECISION SUPPORT

1.      Providing financial insights and recommendations for strategic planning, investment decisions, and business growth

2.   Assisting in the evaluation of potential projects, mergers, and acquisitions.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

1.      Participating in strategic planning sessions and contributing financial perspectives.

2.      Aligning financial planning with organizational goals and objectives.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

1.      Collaborating with other departments to support operational activities.

2.      Providing financial guidance and training to non-financial managers.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

1.      Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.

2.      Leading or participating in initiatives to enhance business processes and systems.

INVENTORY

1.      Perform monthly inventory counts and reconcilliations

2.      Resolve any discrepancies in regard to the inventory and identify the root causes.

3.      Ensure inventry transfers among branches are performed accurately.

1.      AUDITS

 

Ensure effective coordination of the internal and external auditors and provide them all the information they require.

Skills and qualifications

1.       Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

2.       CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.

3.       3+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 1 year in a senior leadership role.

4.       Strong knowledge of financial regulations, GAAP/IFRS, and corporate finance principles.

5.       Proven experience in financial strategy, planning, and risk management.

6.       Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

7.       Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

8.       Experience with financial software and systems (preferable Odoo ERP)

9.       COMPETENCIES

1.       Strong financial judgment with a deep understanding of financial management, financial accounting, and management accounting.

 

2.       Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

 

3.       High ethical standards and integrity in financial management.
