Job Title: Storekeeper

Reports To: Hotel Manager
Location: Hargeisa, Somaliland
Job Summary:
The Storekeeper at Carro Edeg Hotel is responsible for managing the hotel's inventory, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of goods. This role is crucial in maintaining optimal stock levels to support the hotel's operations, including its restaurant, gym, and laundry services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Inspection: Receive all incoming goods, ensuring they match purchase orders and are free from damage.
- Storage Management: Organize and store items appropriately, maintaining the quality and integrity of both perishable and non-perishable goods.
- Inventory Control: Conduct regular stock counts, update inventory records, and report discrepancies to management.
- Issuance of Goods: Distribute supplies to various departments based on approved requisitions, ensuring timely availability.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including receipts, issues, and stock movements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement team to monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment.
- Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring the storeroom meets hygiene standards.
- Loss Prevention: Implement measures to prevent theft, spoilage, and other forms of inventory loss.
Skills and qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Educational Background: High School Diploma required; additional qualifications in supply chain management or hospitality are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a storekeeping role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy items, and stand for extended periods.
- Personal Attributes: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, integrity, and effective communication abilities.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Primarily within the hotel's storerooms, with regular interactions across various departments.
- Schedule: Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the hotel's operational needs.
