Role Purpose
The Project Officer is responsible for supporting the design, coordination, and effective implementation of Saytuun’s projects and programs. The role ensures that projects are well-planned, properly resourced, delivered on time and within budget, and aligned with Saytuun’s strategic priorities, donor requirements, and quality standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
· Proposal & Funding Strategy: Lead the creation of high-impact project proposals, concept notes, and budgets to secure institutional funding and strategic partnerships.
· Pipeline Management: Proactively identify and track funding leads, managing expressions of interest (EOIs) and donor engagements.
· Project Execution: Own the end-to-end coordination of project activities, ensuring all outputs are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
· Resource Coordination: Manage experts, consultants, and trainers, providing clear operational guidance to maintain high delivery standards.
· Risk & Compliance: Track milestones and contractual obligations, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.
· Performance Reporting: Manage donor and internal reporting, synthesizing data and financial inputs into professional, results-oriented narratives.
· MEL & Insights: Drive Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) processes to track indicators and capture data-driven insights for future scaling.

Results-Driven Package:
Performance-based compensation featuring competitive commission or incentive structures linked to measurable targets, with a formal review of salary and outputs after the first three (3) months.
Skills and qualifications
Core Competencies & Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a strong advantage.
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Project Management, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field
· Project Specialist: Proven track record in project management, proposal development, and donor engagement.
· Multitasker: Ability to manage complex timelines, diverse stakeholders, and shifting priorities simultaneously.
· Analytical Reporter: Strong skills in documentation and M&E, with the ability to turn data into compelling impact stories.
· Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on compliance and accuracy.
· Bilingual: Professional fluency in English; Somali language skills are a significant advantage
