Sales Engineer – Solar Energy Systems

The company provides solar home systems, commercial and institutional solar installations, and off-grid and hybrid solar solutions, serving businesses, communities, and development partners.
2. Position Objective
The Sales Engineer – Solar Energy Systems will be responsible for driving sales growth by combining technical knowledge with strong sales skills. The role involves identifying client needs, proposing appropriate solar solutions, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and supporting clients throughout the sales cycle to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage sales opportunities for solar energy systems and solutions.
- Engage with clients to understand their energy needs and recommend suitable solar solutions.
- Conduct site visits and coordinate with technical teams for system assessments and costing.
- Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and presentations.
- Support contract negotiations and close sales agreements in line with company policies.
- Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth project handover after sales.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities for repeat business.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to support sales strategies.
Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management
Skills and qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in sales, preferably in renewable energy, solar systems, or technical products.
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems and renewable energy solutions is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and manage client relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical clients.
- Strong organizational skills and customer-oriented mindset
5. Reporting Line
The Sales Engineer will report directly to Operations Manager
6. Contract Duration and Compensation
- Contract Duration: 12 months, renewable based on performance.
Compensation: Competitive salary with performance-based incentives, commensurate with qualifications and experience
