Job description
Position Title: Inventory Control Officer
The Inventory Control Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable inventory records across the company. The position will oversee and coordinate weekly, monthly, and periodic physical inventory counts, compare physical stock against system records, identify discrepancies and inventory losses, and provide timely reports to management. The officer is responsible of ensuring what is reported is accurate.
The officer will work closely with branch teams, and other departments in the head office to ensure that inventory is consistently controlled, stored, recorded and accounted for at all times.
· Coordinate and conduct regular physical inventory counts across all company branches and warehouses.
· Plan and execute a weekly, monthly, and annual inventory counts.
· Ensure there is a clear comparison between the physical inventory and the system records.
· Conduct and plan additional surprise checks counts when necessary.
· Ensure that all counting reported is accurate and according to company policy and procedures.
· Ensure damaged, expired, missing, or unsellable products are separately identified.
· Investigate and follow up with shortages, overages, damages, and all other discrepancies.
· Analyze recurring discrepancies and plan ways of making improvements in inventory control.
· Ensure damaged, expired, or unsellable items are reported to you.
· Check and report all damaged, expired, or unsellable items.
