The Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS) is an independent, non-political humanitarian national organization. It was recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and became a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) the same year.
About the Program
In line with the principle of inclusivity, the Restoring Family Links (RFL) Program, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has leveraged restoring family link services to connect beneficiaries in the country in different categories, particularly those separated due to conflict and natural disaster. Restoring Family Links in Hargeisa Coordination Office is responsible all the regional and sub offices in Somaliland.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the job.
- Provide support in the registration, counting, and sorting of RFL documents and messages received from the ICRC and Branches.
- Maintains the FLA data entry of activities related to RFL cases and respects the processes and timelines stipulated in the workflows and set deadlines.
- Assists the SRCS RFL team in ensuring accurate monitoring of data entries and reports generated from FLA.
- Addresses RFL information to ensure that data is prepared for internal analysis by the RFL unit, all within the corresponding deadlines.
- Provides insights and advice on improvements to existing data entry procedures and workflows
- Performs and ensures that the FLA data entries are done as per the internal procedures.
- Maintains proper filing, storage and back -up system of programme documents and records, for timely dispatch and retrieval when requested.
- Collects from the branches all the information related to the Anonymous Beneficiaries figures (Protection Office Figures) related to RCMs Phone Calls and Visitors and keeps up to date FLA.
- Assists the RFL team in organizing the data related to the Protection department (FLA database, filing and Anonymous Beneficiaries data).
- Performs regular controls of the data input and update with selections, reports, frequencies and using regular technical checks. With prior validation from the RFL Data Analyst, proceeds to the correction of the data input
- Ensures the relevance and quality of the data collected in accordance with the local language aspects. Proceed to translate to English documents upon request.
- Responsible for the filing of individual files, including out-of-criteria individual files, individual files to be sent back to the branches, etc
Operations Management
- Works closely with the logistics team to effectively support the implementation of RFL operations
- When the need arises, support the activities of staff and volunteers involved in tracing programs
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the SRSC Senior Management
Skills and qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Community Development, Public Administration, or Social Sciences.
Required Job Experience and Competencies
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a humanitarian or development organization as well as experience in the field of protection and data management.
- Demonstrating consistency in upholding integrity and ethics
- Demonstrating knowledge and commitment to the fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
- Acting as a team player and facilitating teamwork
- Consistently approaching work with energy and positive attitude
- Remaining calm, in control and good humored even under pressure
- Responding positively to critical feedback and differing points of views
- Communicating effectively and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrating proficiency in computer office packages word, excel, power point.
