WE-INVEST (Women Empowerment and Investment in Microfinance) is a women-led institution based in Hargeisa, Somaliland, dedicated to empowering women economically and socially. It provides tailored financial services such as group loans, savings accounts, and business loans, along with non-financial services like financial literacy, leadership training, and business skills development. The organization targets women who are often excluded from traditional financial systems and helps them build resilience, access opportunities, and grow their businesses.

The institution is governed by a female-only board and operates on a community-based model that emphasizes ownership, inclusivity, and sustainability. Its mission is to create a future where every woman in Somaliland is economically empowered. Position Summary
WE-INVEST is seeking a passionate and proactive Community Development Officer to engage with communities, promote women’s empowerment initiatives, and facilitate access to WE-INVEST programs. The role focuses on outreach, awareness, training coordination, and relationship building to ensure maximum community participation and support for women-led development.

Key Responsibilities

1. ·         Mobilize community members, especially women, to participate in WE-INVEST programs and services.
2. ·         Conduct outreach and awareness sessions in urban and peri-urban areas.
3. ·         Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, women's groups, and local stakeholders.
4. ·         Identify community needs and gather feedback to inform program improvement.
5. ·         Organize and coordinate training workshops, community forums, and development events.
6. ·         Support monitoring and evaluation by collecting field data and success stories.
7. ·         Promote financial literacy and women’s entrepreneurship through local engagement.
8. ·         Represent WE-INVEST in community dialogues, networks, and external meetings.

Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in community development, social work, NGO programs, or related fields.
Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills in Somali and English.
Proven ability to engage diverse communities with sensitivity and cultural awareness.
Ability to travel frequently within Hargeisa and surrounding areas.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities.
Experience working with women or marginalized groups is highly preferred.
Diploma or degree in Community Development, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field.
Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
