Title: Midwife
Number of Positions: Two (2) Positions
Location: Hargeisa, Somaliland
Start Date: ASAP
Duration of Initial Contract: One Year with Possible Extension
Reporting to: Clinical Coordinator
Closely Working with: Head of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview
Under the overall guidance of hospital management, the midwife will work closely with the hospital coordinator and medical team to oversee all aspects of maternal healthcare, including pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care. The midwife will also be responsible for maintaining proper documentation and managing delivery services at the hospital.
Thus, Tusmo Hospital is seeking a specialized midwife who is well-versed in a hospital environment and possesses expertise in maternal and neonatal healthcare.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under this position, the midwife will perform the following tasks:
- Conduct medical tests to assess patients' conditions.
- Review patients' medical histories and perform health assessments.
- Provide prenatal, childbirth, and postnatal care, ensuring patient well-being.
- Monitor postpartum patients and address any concerns.
- Ensure that all medical, non-medical, and nursing staff follow standard clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals during daily ward rounds.
- Perform diagnostic tasks and complete medical check-ups.
- Gain the trust and confidence of each patient while providing compassionate care.
- Observe and record patients' conditions accurately.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and urgent cases.
- Be available for on-call shifts and emergency situations.
- Make ethical decisions related to patient consent and confidentiality.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the line manager.
Skills and qualifications
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Midwifery, with in-depth training in pregnancy, childbirth, postnatal care, and clinical practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (RN) with a specialized Midwifery certification.
- License Certification from the Somaliland National Health Professions Committee (NHPC).
Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of work experience, with at least two (2) years in midwifery, pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care.
- Ability to perform effectively under high-pressure conditions, long working hours, and challenging environments.
- Experience working in a hospital setting and familiarity with teamwork dynamics.
- Strong conflict resolution and stress management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Under the guidance and direct supervision of hospital management, the hospital will provide:
- A professional uniform for midwives.
All necessary tools and equipment required for medical practice
