Café 9one is one of Hargeisa’s fastest-growing cafés, and we are looking for an ambitious, growth-focused Café Manager to lead our next stage of growth. We need someone who can confidently manage a busy floor, raise service standards, control costs and protect margins, while introducing practical ideas that keep customers coming back. This is a hands-on role for a manager who wants to build something meaningful and help shape the future of Café 9one.  

The Role

Customers

•     Ensure every customer is welcomed well and served quickly, every single day.

•     Keep the cafe clean, comfortable and well presented.

•     Resolve complaints quickly and respond to reviews and comments off/online.

•     Manage our private rooms, which individuals and businesses rent for events, meetings and training: handle bookings, prepare the space, and make sure every event runs smoothly.

Marketing and Sales

•     Plan and run offers, promotions and events each month.

•     Grow and diversify the customer base, and reduce the quiet hours of the day.

•     Plan ahead for Ramadan, Eid, holidays and the diaspora season.

•     Build partnerships with universities, NGOs, government institutions and companies.

•     Grow delivery through social media and direct outreach.

Finance

•     Report on sales, costs and profit every week.

•     Increase customer lifetime value and average spend.

•     Reduce food and drink costs, waste and losses.

•     Price the menu for profit and negotiate better terms with suppliers.

•     Control cash and stock daily.

Team

•     Hire, train and schedule the staff.

•     Set clear standards and treat everyone fairly.

•     Teach the team also to sell and not only to serve.

Keeping Our Standards High

•     Refresh the menu, ambience and experience regularly.

•     Follow competitors and market trends closely. 

What We Need From You

•     10 years experience in cafes, restaurants or hotels, with at least 5 years as a manager.

•     Results you can explain with numbers: sales grown, costs cut, campaigns delivered.

•     Strong Somali and English, spoken and written. Other languages are an advantage.

•     Confident with people: customers, staff and suppliers.

•     Confident with numbers: costs, profit, pricing and stock.

•     Practical marketing skills: offers, events and social media.

•     Familiar with POS systems, Excel etc.

•     Energy and initiative. You bring ideas rather than wait for instructions.
