Communications Officer
The Role:
The Communications Officer will support the production of appropriate and compelling stories, photos and videos to boost World Vision’s communications, marketing, advocacy and donor engagement efforts. The role will ensure that the right communications resources (largely consisting of field stories) are produced to facilitate World Vision’s engagement with its diverse audiences, including strengthening its digital and social media presence, that will in turn contribute to further increasing its external visibility. The role requires a self-driven, passionate communications professional who is a strategic thinker, a relationship builder, a team player, an exceptional planner and an implanter, with a passion for creative storytelling through writing, photos and or/video

Key Responsibilities:
• Content development for internal and external engagement.
• Media communications.
• Emergency response communications.
• Internal communications.
• Branding and reputation.
Skills and qualifications
• Bachelors’ degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
• At least 3 - 5 years of working experience with a focus on communications for an International NGO.
• Excellent writing, editing and photography skills. Videography skills is an added advantage.
• Experience creating content for digital and social media platforms.
• Experience in media, the humanitarian sector and donor engagement.
• Ability to achieve results working in a multicultural context and with diverse teams.
• Ability to work harmoniously within teams, meet tight deadlines under pressure.
• Strong collaborative, networking and influencing skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Must be fluent in both English and Somali (written and verbal)

Working Environment:
The position is field-based in Hargeisa, Somaliland with frequent travel to other target project locations. Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
