In line with our mission to increase access to clean, affordable energy, KIMS is expanding its Solar Micro-Loan program to offer innovative financing for solar energy products to underserved communities.
Position Summary
The Admin & Finance Manager is a critical member of the KIMS team, responsible for ensuring robust financial and administrative operations for our solar micro-loan program. Based in Hargeisa, the successful candidate will oversee budgeting, reporting, cash flow management, and general office administration while ensuring compliance with KIMS policies, donor requirements, and local regulations. The Admin & Finance Manager will report to the Project Manager and work closely with senior management to support the strategic direction of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Management
- Develop and monitor budgets in coordination with senior management.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Oversee daily cash flow, bank reconciliation, and financial controls.
- Manage solar micro-loan disbursements, track repayments, and monitor financial risks.
- Ensure compliance with Somaliland tax and financial laws.
- Maintain transparent financial systems and coordinate external/internal audits.
Administration & Human Resources
- Supervise administrative staff and oversee day-to-day office management.
- Manage HR records, recruitment processes, and staff payroll.
- Monitor procurement, asset management, and inventory tracking.
- Facilitate logistics and support for field operations and solar product distribution.
Compliance & Organizational Support
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and donor regulations.
- Contribute to policy development and operational improvements.
- Support audits, assessments, and internal reviews.
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Skills and qualifications
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance and administration, ideally in microfinance or renewable energy settings.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g. Odoo, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in Somaliland.
- Proven experience in managing budgets, audits, and financial reports.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English and Somali is highly desirable.
Special Requirements
- Occasional travel to field offices and program sites may be required.
- Annual leave must be taken with consideration for organizational peak periods.
