International Banking Director - jijiga, Somali Regional State Of Ethiopia

Purpose of the Job:

The Development services Director will provide management and supervisory services to Shabelle Banking Services Department. International banking job consists of taking care of international initiatives of a bank or clients of the bank who do business internationally. The job is more complicated than other banking jobs since the banker has to ensure that the terms and conditions are in accordance with the policies of the respective country and international business policies.

Main Duties:

• Directs, administers, and manages the Banks’s Development Services Department operations, policies and procedures, activities, planning, schedule, priorities, staff, and budget;
• Coordinates with board, administrative and management staff on policies and objectives with regard to international business policies in accordance to state policies and policies of the financial institution
• Oversees administration the international operations of the bank
• Directs Provision efficient services to clients with international business dealings
• Coordinates with Division heads to ensure proper papers and documents required to undertake international monetary transfers and other formalities are up to date and admissible.
• Spearheads the opening of more international accounts for the bank
• Oversees through the Division heads, the communication with clients and update them regarding latest development with regard to international policies.
• Keep updating knowledge regarding international trade and business policies
• Formulate strategic initiatives that will generate leads from existing clients to increase client base

General Responsibilities

• To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business management or international trade
• Master’s Degree in international trade is very desirable.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in banking of which a minimum of four (4) years in a managerial position.
• Experience in leading and managing management-level team of experts and talent.
• Experience in Interest free Banking position.

• Excellent knowledge about international banking policies of the bank as well as state
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Good writing skills
• Excellent knowledge of accounting, finance and management
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good observation and analytical abilities
• Willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
