Overview of position
Our Client is currently operating in Somalia with Area Offices / Sub-offices established in Hargeisa, Berbera, Bossaso, Garowe, Dhusamareb, Galkayo, Baidoa, Dhobley, Kismayu, Mogadishu and Dolow. Despite our client being active in certain areas, parts of its operational areas are considered inaccessible or have intermittent accessibility to UN staff by the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). This restricts or limits the ability of our staff to liaise directly with retailers and other retail supply chain actors in those areas.
Role objectives
The roles of the consultant are:

Gathering information on trade logistics capacity assessment on questionnaires developed by our client and disseminate information to traders from our client

Supporting logistics operations activities.
Expected output:
-
Visit locations (specified by our client and complete questionnaires provided by our client.

Distribution of EOI (Expression of Interest) to retailers
-
Verification of information through visits of retailers and completion of checklist; In case a retailer refuses an interview, an alternative (simpler) form
-
should be completed to prove existence of the shop in location in question and alternative questions to be asked of beneficiaries or others, depending on situation.

Sensitization/briefings for retailers (Retailer Relationship Management).

Follow-up on identified issues with retailers at field level.

Gather information of supply chains and corridors.
-
PHL and other market strengthening project monitoring.

EShop scale up and monitoring.
Project reporting

This role reports to the Head of Logistics who is based in the Area Office
Skills and qualifications
Qualification
Bachelor's in Relevant discipline (essential).
Sector experience
Minimum of 3-5 year/s of demonstrable relevant Logistics experience (essential).
Geographical experience
Minimum of 3-5 year/s of experience in Somalia (essential).
Languages
Fluent in English (essential).
Fluent in Somali (essential).Key competencies
