JOB TITLE: Internships

LOCATION: Kismayo Somali

CONTRACT DURATION: 5(Five) months

START DATE: June 2022

SALARY GRADE: According to SIF’S Internship scale

TYPE: Limited Employment Contract.

In the SIF 2022 FSL project, SIF will train 5 youth who have completed or are completing their college/university education from the IDPs, poor host community and returnees on office work

• different SIF project’s activities. They will then be attended SIF as Interns for 5 months. During the 5 months these Interns will learn and under supervision of his/her supervisor do the below responsibilities and duties:

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

Reporting to the Project Officers the 5 interns will:

Learn and respect SIF’s code of conduct, internal policies and regulations;

Actively participate in community mobilization when need arises in all SIF projects;

Take part in SIF’s distributions process of food, Shelter and non-food items;

Provide human resources support to the project team during the beneficiary registration, assessment and surveys;

Support communication, reporting and documentation of project activities;

Take part in post distribution monitoring (PDM) activities in the projects that SIF is implementing

Be involved in the effective communication with project team on a regular basis. Take part to ensure proper documentation and record keeping of project filing as

maintaining the project archives

Take part in interim/narrative reporting and case studies preparation

Support to administration, logistics, and procurement processes if needed. Any other tasks assigned by Supervisor in relation to program activities.

Being a member of Secours Islamique France team as a child friendly organization. It is the core responsibility and obligation of each and every staff member to understand and uphold the Child safeguarding policy and respond accordingly.

The intern must have minimum of secondary level or above The intern must be youth at the age 20 to 35 yrs.

He/she must be from IDPs, returnees or poor host community in Kismayo. He/she is preferred to have been recommended/ or recommendation of his

village/camp leader/ University Principal/ Dean

The Intern should a person of high integrity/ moral character.

The Intern should person willing to learn and work in Multi-cultural environment.

The internship should promote project objectives as well as build their experience in livelihood operations

The internship must be well versant with context of Kismayo town and its surroundings. He/she must comply with child safeguarding policy of Secours Islamique France as it’s

child friendly organization, it is the core responsibility and obligation of each and every staff member to understand, obey Child Protection Policy and respond accordingly as and when required.

The Intern must be honest, hardworking person who is ready to work and promote organization policies and procedures.

The Intern must be somebody who is flexible and ready to take any assignment given by his or her supervisor during the working hours.

The intern must be not being somebody associated with drugs and substance abuse i.e. chewing Mira and smoking since SIF is none smoking environment.

He/she must have the ability to interact with host community, returnees and IDPs.

• Respect and promote SIF’s Policies and Agree to comply with SIF Code of Conduct and ensures Child Safeguarding standards are upheld.
• Report to your line manager any discrepancies of SIF’s policies among the team or

partners    Maintain confidentiality at all times.
