Position:                     Community Mobilizer.

Reports to:                 Project Manager.

Location:                    Lasanod (Sool Region)

Created in 1982, Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an independent and impartial international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our actions are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights. HI was the co-winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997 for its role in the International Campaign to Ban Landmines and was awarded (October 2016).

 

 

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE POSITION

 

 

Responsibility 1: Beneficiary identification and facilitate access to services

Aim: Ensure the beneficiaries receive the relevant services based on identified needs 

Activities

·         Collaborate closely with the community to identify and engage beneficiaries/ foster strong community relationship

·         Fill in the initial identification form and refer to HI services (psychological support and physiotherapy).

·         Serve as a vital link between the beneficiaries   and HI team including the physiotherapists and psychologist and other mainstream service providers (CASH, food, etc)

  •  

·         Conduct community sensitization and awareness raising events on disability, inclusion, available services

·         Involves the follow up of the beneficiaries after discharge as directed by the PTs and Psychologists. .

·         Provide support to the community volunteers

·         Follow-up all the beneficiaries to ensure that they have received the services.

 

Responsibility 2: Reporting data on beneficiaries’ follow-up and on case management activities

Aim: Ensure up to date information on status of service delivery according to cases and clear planning of work.

Activities:

·         Contribute to a qualitative follow up of the beneficiaries and filling in the follow up according to the monitoring plan

·         Contribute to data entry, data protection, and records as needed. 

·         Reports regularly, weekly, monthly to the Project manager as required

·         Reporting on any other tasks assigned by the line manager by providing details and actionable information for improved services 

 

Responsibility 3: Networking Representation

·         Keep informed about other actors working in the host communities like the villages in Laasaanood

·         Represent the organization in community level, articulating HI services with a focus on compassion and inclusivity.

Skills and qualifications

Qualifications and professional experience needed

·         Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, psychology or community development . 

·         Experience working with an INGO/NGO, at community level

·         Excellent in spoken and written English,

·         Proficient in using computer programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
