    AYUUB NGO has responded to Somalia’s worst humanitarian crisis for over 30 years amidst civil unrest, hunger, disease, drought and floods that have ravaged the horn of African country as a national leader in humanitarian programming in WASH, Livelihoods support, CCCM, health, nutrition, education, child protection and child rights governance.

    Role and Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the nutrition projects are implemented according to national IMAM guidelines, and program objectives
    • Prepare and manage project work plan to ensure that all activities and nutrition teams are well supported.
    • Maintain an adequate supply of Nutrition supplies and medicines by coordinating with WFP to ensure nutrition supplies are delivered in a timely manner and distributed through SCOPE.
    • Identify staff capacity gaps and source for appropriate facilitators to train and mentors staff for performance
    • Conduct regular support supervisory visits to projects to ensure the quality of nutrition activities and support identification and documentation of quality success stories
    • Participate in rapid assessments to provide an overview of the situation on the ground in order to estimate the immediate needs of the population within the area of ​​operations and select the most appropriate intervention strategy
    • Prepare internal and external reports within agreed deadlines using AYUUB and donor formats, as required; including the cluster weekly updates and monthly reports
    • Maintain effective working relationships with MoH Nutrition department, AYUUB Health & Nutrition team, and other IPs
    • Participate in Nutrition cluster meetings at the state level.
    • Check the coherence between the stock report and the attendance of MCHN / TSFP and BSFP beneficiaries.

    Others:

    • Comply with all relevant AYUUB policies and procedures with respect to child safeguarding policy, health and safety, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies.
    • Any other reasonable duty as may be assigned that is consistent with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in public health, nutrition, medicine, nursing, or other related fields.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the same position.
    • Health professional with public health, Nursing, and nutrition experience background (experience in implementation of community-based health care and management of acute malnutrition).

    Standard of Professional Conduct: AYUUB NGO workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in the AYUUB Code of Conduct and also commit to adhere to the AYUUB PSEA policy.
