Job Title: programme policy officer – HIV/TB

What will you do?
Under the direct supervision by the Head of Nutrition and School Feeding, the nutrition programme officer will be responsible of the below tasks during his/ her assignment:
- Provide technical support on HIV/TB programming through mainstreaming into nutrition programming, pipeline management, guidance and capacity building of CPs, AOs and key government stakeholders, training materials development and field/partner monitoring.
- Manage and lead on UBRAF funded programme activities in close consultation with the WFP Regional Bureau Nairobi and the WFP HQ and UBRAF partners.
- Build and maintain a close working relationship with MOH, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, UN System, Joint UN Team on AIDS (JUNTA), Aids Commission, Global Fund Steering Committee,
HIV/TB sector working group at national and international level and SUN movement and participate in relevant meetings and working groups.
- Support the development and implementation of Social Behaviour Change Communication activities for nutrition.
- Lead on integration and linkages of nutrition into WFP’s Food Systems, Social Protection and Livelihoods programming to ensure nutrition sensitive programming.
- Provide technical support to Country Office and Area Offices in operationalise and monitor nutrition sensitive programming, including the Joint Resilience Programme in close consultation with the Joint Resilience Programme Coordinator.
- Support monitoring and reporting on nutrition-sensitive programming including the development of lessons learnt.
- Support resource mobilisation and advocacy on nutrition-sensitive programming and mainstreaming HIV/TB into nutrition and social protection programming.
Skills and qualifications
Do you meet the minimum requirements?
- Bachelors degree in nutrition and/public health, food systems and transformation, social sciences and other related studies.
- At least 4 years in nutrition and HIV/TB related programmes implementation, public health with international NGOs, United Nations system, or with the governmental institutions with leadership role in terms of emergency nutrition coordination.
- Experience in social protection programmes would be an asset.
- Proficiency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali is a requirement.
Are you competent for this job? Do you have
- Foundational knowledge of nutrition-sensitive and nutrition specific approaches and prevention of malnutrition in both emergency and development contexts.
- Willingness to work in hard conditions, including working outside of working hours
