We are not looking for a traditional marketer to run social media pages; we are seeking a commercial leader who understands how to build scalable marketing engines that directly drive revenue across multiple business units.

 

Role Overview

The Senior Marketing Manager is a high-impact, strategic leadership position. You will own the marketing function across the entire group, reporting directly to executive management. Your mandate is to transition our marketing from ad-hoc activities to a structured, data-driven, and revenue-generating operation.

 

You will be accountable for strategy, execution, and measurable business growth. If you cannot tie your marketing initiatives to Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), conversion rates, and Return on Investment (ROI), this role is not for you. We need an owner who thinks like a business leader and executes with precision.

 

Key Responsibilities

Go-To-Market Strategy (GTM)

        Design, implement, and own comprehensive GTM strategies for existing and new business units within the group.

        Conduct rigorous market analysis to identify commercial opportunities, competitive positioning, and pricing strategies.

        Translate high-level business objectives into actionable, quarter-by-quarter marketing roadmaps.

 

Performance Marketing & Revenue Growth

        Build and manage performance-driven marketing campaigns designed specifically for lead generation and sales conversion.

        Optimize the marketing funnel across all touchpoints to reduce acquisition costs and maximize customer retention.

        Align marketing initiatives directly with sales targets, taking joint accountability for revenue growth.

 

Data, Analytics & KPI Tracking

        Establish a robust marketing analytics framework to track, measure, and report on all marketing activities.

        Shift the organization away from vanity metrics (likes, followers) toward commercial metrics (CAC, ROI, conversion rates).

        Present data-backed insights to the executive board to justify marketing spend and strategic pivots.

 

Brand & Positioning

        Standardize and elevate the brand architecture across all Baraawe Group subsidiaries.

        Ensure consistent, premium positioning that reflects the group's market leadership ambitions.

        Oversee high-level corporate communications and public relations strategies.

 

Team & Cross-functional Leadership

        Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team capable of executing complex strategies.

        Establish clear operational processes, SLAs, and accountability structures within the marketing department.

        Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance to ensure marketing efforts are commercially viable and operationally supported.

Skills and qualifications

Candidate Profile

        Seniority: Must have operated at a Marketing Manager, Head of Marketing, or equivalent senior level.

        Commercial Acumen: You understand business fundamentals. You know how marketing impacts the P&L and can speak the language of finance and operations.

        Metrics-Driven: Deep expertise in tracking and optimizing CAC, LTV, ROI, and conversion metrics.

        Strategic Executor: Capable of designing a 12-month strategy and willing to roll up your sleeves to ensure it is executed flawlessly.

        Contextual Intelligence: Deep understanding of the Somali market dynamics, consumer behavior, and effective local channels, combined with global best practices.

 

What Success Looks Like (First 3–6 Months)

        Month 1: Complete a comprehensive audit of all current marketing activities, spend, and ROI across the group. Present a 90-day turnaround strategy.

        Month 3: Establish a centralized marketing dashboard tracking core commercial KPIs (CAC, Conversion, ROI) for at least two primary business units.

        Month 6: Demonstrate a measurable, data-backed increase in qualified lead generation and a reduction in customer acquisition costs compared to the baseline audit.
