Position Summary:

The ICT Coach for digital village is responsible for providing basic and specialized ICT trainings to nursing students, youth, and co-workers of SOS CV Somalia. He plays a pivotal role in the pre-service and in-service programs, as assigned by the school principal. In addition to teaching, the ICT Coach acts as a mentor and coach, guiding students to succeed in their ICT careers. The coach meets with the learners both individually and in groups with students, monitoring attendance, clarifying concepts taught in class, and offering support to ensure students grasp the material and apply it effectively in computer applications.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

·         Develop and update ICT training materials and curriculum tailored to different skill levels and learning objectives.

·         Conduct ICT training sessions for diverse groups, including students, employees, or community members, covering fundamental computer skills, software applications, internet usage, and digital safety.

·         Provide one-on-one coaching and support to learners who require additional assistance.

·         Address specific challenges and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.

·         Offer technical assistance to individuals experiencing difficulties with hardware, software, or applications. Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues.

·         Promote digital literacy by teaching skills such as online research, email communication, basic programming concepts, and responsible social media usage.

·         Track and assess learners' progress and performance. Provide regular feedback and create progress reports to demonstrate the impact of the training programs.

·         Collaborate with other educators and professionals to integrate ICT training into various educational and community programs.

·         Participate in the evaluation and improvement of training programs. Gather feedback from participants and use it to enhance the quality of future training sessions.

·         Adjust training methods and content to suit the audience, whether they are beginners, intermediate learners, or advanced users, ensuring effective learning experiences for all.

·         Educate learners about online security, privacy, and responsible digital behavior, emphasizing the importance of ethical ICT practices.

·         Collaborate with educators to integrate ICT tools and methods into classroom teaching, enhancing the overall learning experience for students.

·         Encourage continuous professional development among learners, guiding them toward relevant certifications and advanced ICT skills.

·         Maintain records of training sessions, attendance, and learner progress for reporting and evaluation purposes.

·         Maintain clear and open communication with learners, addressing their queries and concerns promptly.

Undertake such other duties as may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the post

Job competencies:

·         Must have 1 year of teaching experiences in ICT or related discipline

·         Be a holder of bachelor’s degree in information technology/computer science

·         Strong command of ICT tools, software applications, programming languages, and hardware components. Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues is essential.

·         Ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and levels of expertise, ensuring effective knowledge transfer to diverse groups.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.

·         Patience in working with learners who have varying levels of ICT proficiency. Empathy and understanding toward learners' challenge and struggles in acquiring new technical skills.
