How can you make a difference?

You as Immunization Specialist provide strategic leadership and technical support on immunization programmes, ensuring their integration within Primary Health Care (PHC) and strengthening health systems to deliver effective, equitable, and sustainable immunization services. You manage and coordinate the Immunization/EPI team, oversee programme planning, implementation, monitoring, and results achievement, and promote integrated approaches across health programmes. You provide technical guidance and operational support throughout the programme cycle, applying results-based management (RBM) principles to strengthen PHC, build resilient health systems, and improve health outcomes for children and communities.

Skills and qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Medicine, Health Policy, Health Management, Pediatrics, Family Health, Global Health, Health Education, Health Research and any other related fields.
  • Work Experience: At least 8 years of relevant work experience in Health, Health Care, Primary Health Care, Program Management, Policy Development, Emergency Preparedness, Partnership Building, Capacity Building. and any other related fields.
  • Skills: Strong experience in Immunization, Health Systems, Monitoring and Evaluation, Maternal Child Health, Child Adolescent Survival, Supervisory Skills is required.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:

  • Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
  • Knowledge of Fragile contexts, Emergency experience, UN experience considered as assets
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
