v Job Summary: the main purpose of the Laboratory Technician is to perform a variety of laboratory procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory operations while adhering to quality and safety standards.

v  AREA OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

®  Conduct routine laboratory tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids, using automated analyzers and manual techniques.

®  Prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage to maintain sample integrity.

®  Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or procedural errors as needed.

®  Document and report test results accurately, maintaining organized records in compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory protocols.

®  Collaborate with healthcare providers to communicate test results, interpret findings, and provide support for patient care decisions.

®  Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the laboratory environment.

®  Adhere to established protocols for infection control, biohazard waste management, and laboratory safety to ensure a safe working environment.

®  Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.

®  Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment operation.

®  Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures accurately.

®  Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

®  Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
