Department to ensure its internal controls and governance processes operate effectively.
THE ROLE Senior Officer, Legal, Litigation Affairs

GRADE LEVEL 2
Summary of the role To handle branch-level legal issues, manage overdue accounts, and ensure
that all recovery and enforcement actions are legally compliant and
promptly executed.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with branch taking legal action and managing all overdue
files with specific focus on default accounts and Targeted Files.
• Ensure that all pledges, guarantees, and securities are legally valid,
enforceable, and properly executed.
• Coordinate closely with the Recovery Department and clients during
settlement or litigation stages.
• Prioritize pre-litigation settlements, ensuring all negotiations are backed
by valid legal documentation and enforceable instruments.
• Draft and issue legal notices and initiate pre-litigation steps promptly in
consultation with the Head Office Legal Department.
• Provide immediate legal response and guidance to branch management
on day-to-day legal matters.

EXPERIENCE • At least 3 years’ experience in litigation practice.
EDUCATIONAL
QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) Postgraduate diploma or master’s preferred
• Good understanding of Somali laws, regulatory compliance, and risk
management
• Knowledge of loan recovery processes, pledge documentation, and
enforcement law.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, reporting and communication skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation drafting skills.
Key skills • Knowledge of Shariah Compliant Financial Products will be a plus
• Good interpersonal & communication skills
• Good at Microsoft Office
• Knowledge Of Banking Products, MS Office, Coordination Skills
