Job description

Job Title: Relationship Manager

Location: Mogadishu

Reporting to: Amal Bank

 

Position Summary:

The Relationship Manager is responsible for forming and maintaining connections with strategic business partners, government, and institutions to drive Amal Group’s strategic interests and objectives. He/she is also responsible for building and maintaining a positive image and identifying potential opportunities for the group.

 

Public Relations & Communications:

·        Act as the first point of contact for senior management with regards to government, institutional, and corporate relations.

·        Invest considerable time and energy in prioritized networking activities and serve as a key representative for the group.

·        Track, assess, identify, and attend key events, workshops, and engagements with potential to benefit the organization.

·        Track media coverage and follow industry trends while responding to requests for information.

·        Support the drafting of media and other communications materials, including speeches.

·        Support the development of proposals and materials aimed at advancing the broader advocacy and engagement goals of the organization.

·        Build and maintain a positive image for the group by establishing and maintaining relationships with consumers, local communities, and public interest groups.

·        Prepare regular and irregular weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.

·        Prepare reports on project status and client interaction details, such as meetings held, workshops/events attended, calls made, and emails sent.

·        Perform other duties as required.

Government & Institutional Relations:

·        Build and maintain professional relationships with members of government entities and agencies.

·        Develop comprehensive strategies focused on the overall advocacy/representative activities of the organization.

·        Liaise with government officials and stakeholders to exchange and access information.

·        Use an integrated and focused approach to leverage the resources of Amal Group to create the most value for all stakeholders.

·        Research and monitor government activities that could affect the organizations’ businesses and clients.

Corporate Engagement & Business Development:

·        Build and maintain professional relationships with members of the industry and strategic corporate partners.

·        Prospect for opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and engagement to create and expand existing business relationships.

·        Collaborate with industry advocates to build areas of common interest.

·        Join trade associations and industry committees and seek leadership roles.

Skills and qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Comfortable with group presentations and public speaking.

·        Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

·        Strong government contacts at local, state, and federal levels.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

·        Advanced degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Relations, or comparable experience preferred.

·        3 - 5 plus years of experience in the public sector desired.

·        Knowledge and awareness of the local market and community preferred.
