 Formal Education & Certifications • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. • Professional Certifications are highly valued (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA, or CGFM for government roles).optional.

2. Technical & Hard Skills

· Financial Reporting: Ability to prepare and interpret key financial statements—Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows—in compliance with standards like GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
· Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience in developing annual budgets, forecasting future financial performance, and analyzing variances to explain differences between projected and actual results.
· Financial Analysis: Strong analytical skills to assess financial data, identify trends, measure performance (using KPIs), and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
· Accounting Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems like SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, as well as mainstream software like QuickBooks or Xero. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros) are almost universally required.
· Internal Controls & Compliance: Knowledge of establishing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial compliance with laws and regulations.

· Analytical and Problem-Solving Mindset: The ability to dissect complex financial data, identify the root cause of discrepancies, and propose effective solutions.
· Meticulous Attention to Detail: Accuracy is non-negotiable in finance. A small error can have significant consequences in reporting and decision-making.
· Communication Skills: Must be able to explain complex financial information clearly and concisely to colleagues, managers, and non-financial stakeholders.
· High Integrity and Professional Ethics: Finance Officers handle sensitive and confidential information, requiring unwavering honesty and ethical judgment.
· Organization and Time Management: The role often involves managing multiple deadlines, such as monthly closings, audit cycles, and reporting periods.
