Overview Position:

 

As a Finance Assistant at TAMARSO, your primary responsibility will be to support the finance department in various financial tasks and ensure the smooth operation of financial activities within the organization. You will work closely with the finance team and report directly to the Finance Manager. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

o   Financial Data Management:

 

Þ    Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

Þ    Ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, such as invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.

Þ    Verify the accuracy of financial documents and transactions, and resolve any discrepancies or errors.

 

 

 

o   Financial Reporting:

Þ    Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, statement of changes in owner equity, on a regular basis.

Þ    Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to established timelines and procedures.

Þ    Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for any significant deviations.

 

o   Budgeting and Forecasting:

 

Þ    Support the finance team in the preparation of weekly budgets and periodic forecasts.

Þ    Assist in monitoring budget performance and provide analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Þ    Collaborate with department managers to gather financial data for budgeting purposes.

 

o   Financial Analysis:

 

Þ    Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and provide insights into financial performance.

Þ    Assist in preparing financial models, projections, and cost-benefit analysis for new initiatives or projects.

Þ    Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements.

Skills and qualifications

·         Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (any accounting qualification/ certification will be an added advantage).

·         Proven experience of at least three years in finance or accounting.

·         Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.

·         Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel, accounting software (QuickBooks), and ERP systems.

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

·         Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

·         Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
