CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Title: Teaching Methodologies Training for Technical and Vocational Trainers
Client: Banadir Training Institute (BTI)
Duration: 2 Weeks (10 Days)
Introduction
Banadir Training Institute (BTI) is committed to providing high-quality technical and vocational education to equip youth with the skills needed for sustainable employment and economic growth. To further enhance the quality of instruction, BTI seeks to engage qualified training provider to deliver a Teaching Methodologies Training program tailored to the needs of technical and vocational instructors at BTI.
Objective of the Training
The objective of the training is to improve the pedagogical and instructional skills of BTI’s technical instructors, enabling them to adopt modern and effective teaching methods that cater to diverse learning needs, integrate technology, and promote competency-based learning.
Scope of Work
The selected training provider will be responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive training program that includes:
- Pedagogical Development
- Introduction to modern teaching methodologies for technical and vocational education.
- Designing lesson plans and instructional materials tailored for practical and theoretical training.
- Strategies for competency-based and outcome-oriented education.
- Classroom Management
- Techniques for managing diverse classrooms effectively.
- Promoting active learning and student engagement in practical settings.
- Assessment and Evaluation
- Methods for evaluating student performance in technical and vocational disciplines.
- Developing and using assessment tools that align with technical competencies.
- Technology Integration
- Utilizing digital tools and technology for teaching technical subjects.
- Incorporating e-learning platforms and resources into vocational training.
- Communication and Facilitation Skills
- Enhancing the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
- Building facilitation skills for hands-on workshops and labs.
- Inclusive and Gender-Sensitive Education
- Addressing the needs of diverse learners, including underrepresented groups.
- Integrating gender-sensitive practices in teaching technical and vocational subjects.
Expected Outputs
The training provider is expected to deliver the following:
- A training plan and curriculum tailored to the needs of technical instructors.
- Facilitation of a 10-day training program at BTI’s premises.
- A post-training report, including attendance records, feedback from participants, and recommendations for further capacity building.
Target Participants
- Approximately 14 instructors teaching both technical (Solar & Electrical skills) and support courses instructors (English, ICT and Business etc).
Skills and qualifications
Eligibility Criteria
Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Proven experience in delivering similar training programs for technical and vocational educators.
- Demonstrated expertise in modern teaching methodologies, competency-based education, and capacity building.
- Availability of qualified trainers with relevant academic and professional backgrounds.
- Ability to deliver the training within the specified timeline.
Proposal Requirements
Applicants should submit the following:
- Technical Proposal (5 pages maximum) – 50 marks
- Understanding of the assignment – 20 marks
- Methodology and approach for delivering the training – 15 marks
- Detailed training agenda and topics to be covered – 15 marks
- Financial Proposal – 20 marks
- Breakdown of costs – the financial proposal of the bidder should include only: Training fees (daily rate and lumpsum), learning materials and cost of certificates. BTI will provide the venue and refereshments – 20 marks.
- Institutional Capacity – 30 marks
- Profile of the training institution/organization – 2 marks.
- CVs of 2 trainers/facilitators – 10 marks.
- Evidence of past similar assignments (at least 2 similar contracts) – 10 marks.
- Valid registration from relevant government authorities/bodies such us Ministry of Commerce and Industry of FGS – 4 marks.
- Tax compliance certificate: A valid tax compliance certificate (TIN) from Ministry of Finance, FGS – 4 marks.
- Timeline (Timeline is pre-determined: 10 days).
- Proposed schedule for the training program including preparing training materials/contents.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following:
- Relevance and quality of the training methodology (30%)
- Expertise and experience of trainers (30%)
- Cost-effectiveness and financial feasibility (20%)
- Demonstrated understanding of BTI’s needs (20%)
