Role Summary

Blue Light Company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the daily operations and overall administrative coordination of Mogadishu Sports Village. While primarily responsible for operations, the position will also perform delegated general-management functions, including staff leadership, commercial performance, stakeholder engagement, budgeting and management reporting.

The successful candidate will ensure that the Sports Village operates safely, efficiently and professionally while increasing facility utilization, revenue generation and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the daily opening, operation and closing of Mogadishu Sports Village.
• Manage the use and booking of stadiums, fields, fitness areas and event spaces.
• Supervise security, maintenance, cleaning, customer service and support personnel.
• Prepare staff rosters, operational schedules and performance assignments.
• Ensure all facilities are safe, clean, functional and ready for use.
• Coordinate football matches, training sessions, fitness programmes, tournaments and public events.
• Oversee access control, crowd management, emergency preparedness and incident reporting.
• Manage preventive maintenance and protect company facilities, equipment and other assets.
• Lead gate-fee collection, facility rentals, fitness programmes, events, advertising and other approved revenue activities.
• Monitor bookings, attendance, revenue and operating expenses, ensuring proper reconciliation and accountability.
• Identify opportunities to increase facility usage, improve services and grow operational revenue.
• Support the preparation and implementation of operational plans, budgets, policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with sports clubs, federations, government institutions, event organizers, vendors and community representatives.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve operational and administrative challenges.
• Represent Mogadishu Sports Village in routine meetings when delegated by senior management.
• Provide overall site leadership and make timely operational decisions within delegated authority.
• Submit weekly and monthly reports covering operations, finance, staff performance, facility utilization, incidents and revenue.
• Perform other general-management responsibilities assigned by the Managing Director or Board.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, Public Administration, Sports Management, Facility Management or a related field.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience, preferably including supervisory or management responsibilities.
• Experience in facility operations, sports venues, events, hospitality, commercial services or public-service environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams, budgets, operational systems and external stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, planning, decision-making, problem-solving and reporting skills.
• Good understanding of safety, security, maintenance, customer service and revenue-management practices.
• Strong integrity, accountability and commercial awareness.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Fluency in Somali and working proficiency in English.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
