About Smart Home Builders

Smart Home Builders designs and builds private villas, luxury houses and modern apartments for families, landlords and developers in Mogadishu and across Somalia. Every project is delivered with engineering oversight, a clear construction schedule and phase-by-phase inspection.

The role

We need an architect who can take a client's idea from first sketch to a photo-realistic presentation, and who understands how it gets built on site.

Responsibilities

•      Draft 2D layouts, floor plans, elevations and sections.

•      Prepare detailed design drawings for construction and coordinate with engineers.

•      Produce 3D photo-realistic renderings of exteriors and interiors.

•      Create 4D interior walkthrough videos for client presentations.

•      Visit sites, check that work matches the drawings, and resolve design issues with the site team.

•      Present designs to clients and revise them from feedback.

Requirements

•      Bachelor's degree in Architecture (required).

•      Proven design experience with residential projects, plus field experience on active construction sites.

•      Strong in AutoCAD and Revit (or ArchiCAD), SketchUp, and a rendering tool such as Lumion, Enscape, V-Ray or D5.

•      Skill in video walkthrough or animation for presentations.

•      A portfolio showing plans, detailed drawings, renders and at least one walkthrough video.

•      Good communication in Somali and English.

Advantage: Experience with villas and apartment buildings in Somalia.

Selection process

•      Practical test: Design a 2-storey villa plan from a short brief, with one 3D view.

•      Interview focus: Site experience, detailing, and handling client changes.

•      Reference checks: Two references from previous employers or clients.
