Position: Storekeeper
Job Grade: Band 2
Location: Mogadishu Branch
Reports To: Admin and finance Officer
Direct Reports: None.
Background:
SRCS is an independent, non-political humanitarian organisation. It was established in April 1963 and became a legal entity following Presidential Decree No. 187 in 1965. SRCS has operated continuously throughout the country’s period of civil war and political divide and is credited for its unity as one National Society. It operates through a network of nineteen branches with activities spread all across the country.
Overall Job Purpose
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the inventory and warehouse operations, overseeing the vehicle fleet, and processing administrative tasks of the SRCS Mogadishu branch. This includes coordinating with various departments for requisition and delivery of medical and non-medical supplies, maintaining accurate records of inventory movements, ensuring proper reporting and warehouse management, overseeing the overall store movement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Deliver and record daily production materials, tools, machines, and/or other equipment from the store to personnel of the orthopaedic workshop and/or the physiotherapy department, which she/he is entitled to according to her/his job description
· Receive and record daily return of tools, machines and other equipment from personnel of orthopaedic workshop or the physiotherapy department or other parts of the centre previously lent to her/him form the store
· Whenever lending out a tool or a machine the borrower shall leave with the storekeeper a tag with her/his privet number, this tag shall be placed on that location in the store of the borrow item. When returning the borrowed item this will be swapped with the tag and the tag handed back to the client. If the tool, machine or equipment is missing and there is no personal tag from a borrower the storekeeper is responsible for replacing the missed item
· Receive, record and ensure proper and safe storage of all incoming commodities, tools, machines and/or equipment
· Maintain proper and at any time up to date stock inventory by updating stock cards on daily basis
· Ensure that the store is kept open and being managed throughout all working hours of the centre or whenever any employee rightfully request material, tools or equipment from the store for carrying out duties according to her/his job description.
· At any time ensure that the store is properly arranged
· At any time ensure the tidiness, cleanness and the upkeep of the store
· Ensure that the store is accessible only to those who are authorised
· Cooperate and maintain good working relation with other sections, departments and personnel of the centre
· Reporting
· Alert the administrator immediately when the stock of any production material or other items reaches the agreed minimum stock level
· Report to the administrator immediately whenever the borrower of tools or equipment fails to return this to the store.
· By 2nd of every month present to the administrator a monthly stock report

Educational Qualifications & Professional Training:
- High school graduation and three years of work experience performing storeroom functions or appropriate combination of Business School education and experience.
- Valid New Hampshire commercial driver's license if required.
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work.
- Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.
